A little bit about me ...

"You don't take a photograph, you make it."      - Ansel Adams

My name is Tracy Holland, a photographer serving the areas from Athabasca to Fort McMurray, AB.  I hang my hat beside my husband's and son's near Athabasca returning after a recent move from Fort McMurray, the place I called home for over 25 years.

The nature world is where I take my family any chance I get.  Photographing nature, (especially when mankind is somewhere within it), stopping time for just a moment, capturing raw emotion and keeping the memories alive are a few reasons I am attached to my camera ... it truly has become an appendage.

In October of 2012, I purchased my first DSLR.  A short distance into the journey, I fell in love with it.  I can never thank you enough, Rick Hawkins ... you, my friend and teacher, unravelled the mystery allowing me to unleash my passion. Being able to express what I see is … well … addictive.  There is never “just one more shot.”

What photography gives to me I want to give others ... memories that are visually alive ... a journal of life’s incredible moments ... peace and comfort.

I knew I was in trouble as soon as my shutter finger started to twitch.  Here’s to celebrating life’s moments ... to writing and recording them with light.
