A little bit about me ...

"You don't take a photograph, you make it."      - Ansel Adams

My name is Tracy Holland, a photographer serving the areas from Athabasca to Fort McMurray.  I now hang my hat beside my husband's and son's based in Athabasca, AB while sharing our time with Fort McMurray, the place we called home for over 25 years.

The nature world is where I take my family any chance I get.  Photographing nature, (especially when mankind is somewhere within it), stopping time for just a moment, capturing raw emotion and keeping the memories alive are a few reasons I am attached to my camera ... it truly has become an appendage.

In October of 2012, I purchased my first DSLR ... a short distance ... and I mean a really short distance into the journey, I fell in love with it.  I can never thank you enough, Rick Hawkins ... you, my friend and teacher, unravelled the mystery allowing me to unleash my passion. Being able to express what I see is … well … addictive.  There is never “just one more shot…!”  What photography gives to me I want to give others ... memories that are visually alive ... a journal of life’s incredible moments ... peace and comfort.

I knew I was in trouble as soon as my shutter finger started to twitch.  Here’s to celebrating life’s moments ... to writing and recording them with light.
